Benefits of purchasing the Penalty Waiver include:
- Cancel for any reason - no questions asked
- Cancel up to time of departure - no need to worry about how soon before departure you need to make that call, you are covered right up to the last minute before your scheduled boarding time
- Refund in the form of payment - receive your qualifying refund (minus the cost of coverage) in your original form of payment. No vouchers to keep track of.
Cancellation penalties will be applied without exception unless you purchase the Penalty Waiver. Spirit Vacations penalties are in addition to any supplier penalties and are subject to change at any time. Airline imposed non-refundable fees and fares are non-refundable, even if the Penalty Waiver is purchased. All cancellations must be confirmed by Spirit Vacations' reservations department prior to departure. This Penalty Waiver does not apply to "NO-SHOW" situations where you do not check-in or to denied-boarding situations, nor will it waive revision fees.
Note: When a cancellation is made, all refunds will be given in the original form of payment, less the price of the Waiver, non-refundable scheduled air tickets and scheduled airline cancel/re-ticketing fees. This Waiver does not cover non-refundable scheduled air tickets. However, if cancellation is received a minimum of 48 hours prior to the departure date, the value of re-useable air tickets may be applied to a future Spirit Vacations scheduled air booking for the cost of the $90 per person airline re-ticketing fee plus any applicable fare difference. Bookings for future travel must be made at the time of cancellation. Increases in the scheduled air price of rebooked vacations are the responsibility of the traveler. Bulk and published fares are always non-refundable. If the number of individuals occupying a room decreases, the remaining travelers will be responsible for additional costs incurred as a result of a change in the per person occupancy rate. The Penalty Waiver must be purchased at the time of booking and may not be added at a later date.
Post Departure Travel Protection
Benefits of purchasing Post Departure Travel Protection include:
- Trip Interruption - reimburses unused arrangements should you need to interrupt because of illness or injury to yourself, a family member, or traveling companion; jury duty; subpoena, or a traffic accident on the way to the airport
- Travel Delay - reimburses additional transportation costs or unused vacation days should your flight be delayed by inclement weather
- Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation - arranges and pre-pays the cost of emergency medical transportation should a serious illness or injury during your vacation require your medical evacuation
- Medical Expense - reimburses medical costs should you incur hospital charges or other medical bills as a result of an illness or injury during your vacation
- Lost/Stolen Baggage or Personal Effects - reimburses you for baggage or items lost, stolen, or damaged during your vacation
- Delayed Bags - reimburses for the purchase of necessary personal items if your bags are delayed by the airline for more than 12 hours
- Flight Accident Protection - insurance in the event of accidental death while on board your flight
- Worldwide Emergency Travelers Assistance - services of AIG Assist should you experience medical, travel, or legal problems of an emergency nature during your vacation
These non-refundable and non-transferable plans must be purchased at the time of booking.
